KEYNOTE SPEAKER & EMCEE

We are thrilled to welcome Derrick C. Brown as the Keynote Speaker and Emcee of the SEEDS Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Brown is a celebrated American poet, performer, and comedian whose electrifying blend of humor, storytelling, and spoken word has captivated audiences across the globe. As the founder and president of Write Bloody Publishing, one of the most influential independent poetry presses in the country, he has championed diverse voices and revitalized contemporary poetry through dynamic live performance and innovative literary experiences. An award-winning author of ten poetry collections and four children’s books, and Poet Laureate of Los Feliz, CA, Brown’s work has earned critical acclaim—including Paste Magazine’s Album of the Year—and his performances have taken him from international literary festivals to television stages. His unique voice and charismatic presence make him an unforgettable guide for our journey at SEEDS.

EMCEE

Robert Rettenmaier is a United States Marine Corps veteran who completed two combat tours in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 He has practiced law for over ten years, with his legal work focused on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) law since 2017. Robert is a partner at RSW Fertility Group LLC, where he advises intended parents, surrogates, and fertility professionals on complex domestic and international ART matters. He is a frequent speaker in the ART space, including presenting at SEEDS and the ABA, and is actively involved in advancing equitable access to fertility care. In addition to his legal practice, Robert serves as a board member of the Insurance Access and Equity Alliance (IAE), supporting initiatives that expand insurance coverage and fairness in reproductive healthcare. Outside of work, Robert enjoys tequila, chess, and cheering on the Chicago Bears.

All cancellation requests must be made via e-mail. An administrative fee of $50 will be charged for all cancellations. Cancellation requests received after May 1, 2026 will not be refunded.

Cut Off Date

Reservations by attendees must be received on or before April 21, 2026*, (the “Cut-Off Date”). At the Cut-Off Date, Hotel will review the reservation pick up for the Event, release the unreserved rooms for general sale, and determine whether or not it can accept reservations based on a space- and rate-available basis at the Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy group rate after this date.
